On April 26, 2008 the Shipley Nature Center in Huntington Beach hosted their Third Annual Spring Festival. The activities included a Continental Breakfast, a California Native Plant Sale and the opening of the nature friendly Information Fair. A wide variety of community groups and businesses were on hand to share useful and informative materials.

We were very proud to be involved in this exciting event! Our booth included a display of our 'California Friendly' style of landscaping, a game for the kids where you toss the aphid into the mouth of the hungry ladybug to win a gummy insect and bug tatoos, and a game for the adults to test their knowledge of low water / low maintenance gardens. We were surprised to find out just how many Huntington Beach residence were knowledgable about California Friendly gardens. We passed out lots of Plant Nerd Mugs and literature on what homeowners can do to reduce water, maintenance and green waste.
