GardenSmart on PBS, hosted by Joe Lamp'l aka 'Joe Gardener' selected one lucky home owner from across the country to be the recipient of a brand new landscape. Carol, the winner, had contacted us previously to produce a design for her family vacation home in Laguna Beach. When she told us that she had won the contest, she asked us if we would still be interested in being involved with the project. We were interviewed by the Producer and offered the job to design the landscape and oversee the installation. We were very excited to be involved in such a wonderful project and were looking forward to meeting the host and the crew!

The home was built in 1923 and was in desperate need of a landscape makeover. We only had one week for installation, so we concentrated our efforts on giving the backyard the most dramatic change by removing everything and starting from scratch. The front design included softscape only.

Kenna Construction, M&M Masonry and Tolly Incorporated were all involved in the construction with plants generously donated by Monrovia Growers. We completed a six week installation in five days with the help of about 50 workers! It was an incredible project with a beautiful outcome! We felt very fortunate to be involved in such a wonderful project workign
