About Us

Korina's interest in gardening began when she enrolled in her high school horticulture program. Later she worked in a local nursery while continuing her education in Ornamental Horticulture. At the nursery, she was faced with many customers that were in desperate need of a professional to come to their home and give them sound advise on what to do with their landscapes. The desire to help these people laid the foundation for the original ideas for The Plant Nerd. She began by visiting clients homes and offering Landscape Recommendation Packages that were specific to their landscape.

As the business grew, Chris came aboard and both continued their education in home horticulture and design and began to focus on a full design approach that included all aspects of the landscape. The business began creating full property landscape plans that detailed the hardscape construction and custom garden features while continuing to use appropriate plant material that would reduce water and maintenance.

The Plant Nerd, Inc. now offers softscape installation, appointment only detail maintenance and irrigation repair and drip systems. The Plant Nerd crew is small but highly specialized in home horticulture and detail gardening. We pride ourselves on our extensive knowledge of plant material and our ability to use this living, dynamic part of the landscape to create successful gardens that enhance the aesthetic of the property, while reducing the water and maintenance required to sustain it.
